ABOUT MEGAN MCFADDEN

Hello, and welcome to my website! I'm Megan. I'm currently a student at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas. I'm majoring in art and minoring in mass communications and psychology. I'm looking to go into visual media for different Catholic companies.

A good summary of my career would be the word learning. I am still very much learning. I started to get into photography more seriously in winter of 2015, and it's been a bit of a rocky road. Sometimes I have inspiration, sometimes I have absolutely nothing for months. And it's important, I've found in those moments, to be patient with oneself. Beauty will come when you least expect it.

A large inspiration of mine is the Catholic faith and human interaction. As a psychology minor, I'm interested in seeing the various ways humans express themselves, and art gives me an outlet to show that. Additionally, the Catholic faith always seems to showcase a large amount of beauty, mystery, and reverence to me. I am often enthralled by the traditions of the Church.

In all my work, I hope to express the beauty of everyday life, and the mysteries of this world. Which sounds really uppity, but I think it's accurate! After all, F. O'Connor said it best: "Because I am Catholic I cannot afford to be anything less than an artist."
